Heater Surface loading
Recently, customers often asked,Judy, the electric heating tube(tubular heater) how to calculate the surface load of the heater, Why do you say this heater only can make l2000W, why over the max wattage, the working life of the heater is short? And also asked” our customer need 3000W , you should make 3000W for this heater” and I said sorry, make 3000W no warranty, as this heater length is too short, max 2000W. Many question like this, now we want to talked about this question.
So what is the surface loading.
The term "surface loading" is used to mean a quotient of power and surface. The surface load is mostly specified in W/Cm².
We have a standard surface loading standard. More than this standard, the heater surface temperature is too high, if the heat can not be distributed in time,One part of the heater easy breakdown. So when designing the power of the heating tube, the surface loading design is very important.
Standard:
· Water 0°dH max. 20 W/cm²
· Circulating water, low-oxygen, VDI 2035 max. 10 - 15 W/cm²
· Drinking water < 18°dH max. 6 W/cm²
· Drinking water > 18°dH max. 3 - 4 W/cm²
· Heat transfer oil max. 4-10 W/cm²
· Fuel oil EL/ diesel max. 4 W/cm²
· Colza oil max. 4 W/cm²
· Hydraulics oil max. 1 - 2 W/cm²
· Heavy oil max. 2 W/cm²
· Milk max. 1 W/cm²
